DETROIT HOLY REDEEMER HIGH SCHOOL
HOME OF THE LIONS

Enter Text
The parish of the Most Holy Redeemer was established in Detroit under the leadership of the Redemptorist priests in the year 1880. Two years later, in 1882, a school was established for the parish under the leadership of the IHM Sisters. The elementary school continues today to educate children through the 8th grade. However, the high school was closed by the Archdiocese of Detroit in 2005. This website celebrates the parish, and the high school through which so many eager young souls progressed toward adulthood.

THIS WEBSITE IS BEST VIEWED ON A COMPUTER, WITH THE PICTURES DISPLAYING AT THEIR LARGEST IN THE SLIDESHOW. (JUST THE OPPOSITE ON THE IPAD OR PHONE, WHERE THE SLIDESHOW DISPLAYS A SMALLER PICTURE.)
This website is currently being constructed by Kathy Suchyta Wozniak ’66. Additions and/or corrections are WELCOMED, just hit “Email Me” below. You will notice the years for which pictures are missing. I would be particularly pleased to be able to look at any yearbooks from 1934 through 1956, & 1979. No yearbooks were received in 1990 and 1991. This project first began with a purchase of 12 old Redeemer yearbooks to donate to the Detroit Catholic School Heritage Project. A sense of history drew me to want to learn and share more. Thanks to Betsy Saunders ’66 for access to more saved materials from Holy Redeemer.
